Oktoberfest, St. Charles: 2013

We decided to show some German love and celebrate Oktoberfest this weekend. It was my first Oktoberfest, and it was pretty much exactly what I expected. Lots of beer (and wine, thank god). A tent tricked us into buying bracelets. We thought the bracelets gave us access to unlimited amounts of beer and wine. It didn't. Still not sure what the point of the bracelet was. Perhaps for avid scrapbookers? Anywho, we got our beer and wine and just enjoyed watching the crowd.

Then we found a jump jump. Anne and Erin decided to try it out.

Whoa, they were flying high. And quite talented if I do say so. They showed off their skills by doing multiple flips in the air. Actually, I kind of regret not trying it out. Perhaps next year. Or next week at the other St. Louis Oktoberfest? We then decided to finish our drinks and head to Main Street. We found this gem on the way.

We went to a bar on main and grabbed some grub, listened to hits from the 90's, and watched a guy fall asleep at the bar. His friends were rather cavalier about him sleeping. Perhaps they are used to him napping in public. I named him Sam; Anne named him Austin; Erin named him Josh; Zakiya named him Ben. We never found out what his real name was. Alas, he will remain a mystery.
